a Renovation

When I was growing up, my parents took my brother and I camping all the time. We used the tent when we headed to the mountains, but when it came to family vacations, dad pulled a camper behind our Bronco and we stayed at campgrounds. It was so much fun! Now that we're all grown up, we're starting to do the same with our own families.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I purchased our first bumper pull. It's a 13' 1972 Serro Scotty. It was in pretty rough shape and missing almost everything that it originally had when it was new.  We've read that there are many people that like to restore vintage campers back to their old self, but it can be quite expensive and time consuming. We decided to restore ours into a  modern little camper to fit our own personal needs.

So far we have torn it almost completely apart on the inside and installed a new subfloor, insulation and paneling. Yesterday we purchased an icebox, a furnace, and a table from Craigslist and a new stovetop is ordered and on the way! It's coming together so nicely! It's been a lot of work, but so much fun and worth every penny! We can hardly wait to take it out...
