Featured on COPIOUS

A few weeks ago I received an email about joining a new marketplace to buy and sell things I love. Copious. I've never heard of it so I hurried over to check it out. Now I'm buying and selling on Copious! Well, I haven't bought anything yet, but I will. I've been too busy creating my shop. It's different than ETSY, but fun. I am big on REcycling and REusing and Copius is all about that. You can buy or sell items that are new with tags, handmade, or used. You can  ♥ items and follow people too. Just like a few other social networking sites we're all familiar with.

A few of my favorites:

MuddyPotts on YouTube

Oh my gosh! It has been SOOO long since I've made a video or been on YouTube. Back when I first started marketing my work, I was on YouTube all the time and making videos. I miss the community and made a short video with a little update of what I've been doing the last four years...

Life through a Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope

It's been a long time since I altered a photograph...The other night I was going through new images that needed some work and added to Artsyshots, my photography ETSY shop. Kaleidoscope came from an image of cone flowers that were taken in my front yard this summer. I like the original photograph, but I thought it would also be a good one to play with. I've always liked kaleidoscopes and how the lines and light can alter what you see through the eyepiece. You can always see something ordinary and look through a kaleidoscope to get a different image.

Another new piece I have to share with you is a watercolor of three trout. My husband had gone fishing several weeks ago and I just had to take a picture of them. They were so beautiful!

Art Journaling: Back to the Basics

I'm participating in an art journal round robin with three other artist friends. We each have our own art journal that we start with and then mail it on to the person next on our list. Eventually all of us will have created four pages in every one's journal. I just started my very own art journal this year and only have two entries. I was all Gun ho about it at first and then never made the time to keep up with it. But now that I'm part of the round robin, I'm having SO much fun! It's very relaxing. Plus I'm getting alot of new ideas for future paintings and sculptures! Here are a couple pages that I've done so far...

Art journaling is a great way to create in any way you can think of. I've been using acrylics, watercolors, markers, oil pastels, glue sticks and a glossy gel medium. The sky is the limit though! You should give it a try!
