Truth Is...

...I haven't blogged for a week and I can honestly say, I've been way too busy to make a post.

truth is...

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the company we've had this summer. It's been like a little bed and breakfast around here except, breakfast has been optional. *smile*

truth is...

I am SO out of shape it's not even funny. I'm still very sore from our long but worth it hike this past Saturday. My friends and I hiked up the South Colony Trail outside of Westcliffe. I would love to climb Humboldt someday.

truth is...

we were all reminded this past weekend how precious life is. I count my blessings everyday. I am so thankful for friends and YOU!

LOVE my life

What a week and it's only Wednesday! I've been working like a busy bee in the studio lately. I have two different commissions I'm working on and filling orders that come through while I'm sleeping. And I'm not complaining one bit! I love every minute of it!!! In the meantime, I bought some metal shelves that I put together for the art room and then of course had to do some rearranging too. SO the transformation pictures may be revealed on Friday if I get it finished...

to tide you over, here are a few pics of what I've been working on.

@ the Farmer's Market

I finally made it to the Farmer's Market this last Saturday in Salida. It was filled with booths full of handmade goods, fresh produce, and friendly folk. Since it was almost over, I had to make it a quick visit, but still found some great finds. First I stopped off at the Vino Salida booth and picked up a bottle of the Vino Rosso for a dinner party. It was a big hit and now I have to go get myself another bottle!

Then I found THE coolest t-shirts ever screen printed by Farrah Fine. How can you go wrong with chickens and bicycles? She's making mine special, so when I get it, I'll share it with you!

The last booth I stopped off at was the Sweet Pea Farm. Two reasons this one caught my attention. The first is that  Sweet Pea has been one of my nicknames given to me by a friend of my mother, so I'm kind of partial to the name. Secondly, they were selling pure, raw honey and I couldn't pass that by! I ended up buying a pint of the high altitude wildflower honey.
It is D E L I C I O U S!!!

I'm not much of a summer girl, but Farmer's Markets definitely are a perk of the season!

Little Mugs for Little People

little girl red heart flower coffee mug

A few years ago, I made a little mug for a friend's son. It was a cute little mug glazed in orange and blue (the Denver Bronco colors) with his name stamped on front. Then I made each of my nieces and nephew one. Well, my niece Lilly uses her mug quite a bit, (she loves coffee) and a little chip happened upon the lip. The mug is now in the studio waiting to be fixed. In the meantime, I decided to just make her a new one. One side has three little heart flowers and her name is glazed on the opposite side.

I have since decided to list these cute little mugs at MuddyPotts. Each order is completely personalized with your child's name. They would make great gifts! All you have to do is shoot me an email through my shop, MuddyPotts with details of what you would like. It's that simple. *smile*

Truth is...

looking up © samos

I haven't been taking the time to read my friends' blogs lately and I feel bad about it. I really do want to know how they're doing, what new art they're making, and the ups and downs they are experiencing.
truth is...

I'm having a hard time balancing my time. I am trying to get into a new routine everyday listing new work in all three ETSY shops, painting, and working in the pottery studio. This leads to time management again. Where do I find the time to just read for pleasure without feeling guilty for not getting any work done?

truth is...

I don't go out for hikes while my husband is home from work, which means the dogs don't get their much needed walks in and I feel like a slug. (Although we did get in an hour ride on the horses this morning and I helped a little load/unload hay this afternoon.)

truth is...

I'm just tired today and want to relax, but I feel like I can't because I should work on my hubcap for the landfillart project, edit and load images, and get those planter dishes thrown.

Know what though? I'm going to shut down this computer after making this post and going for a walk with my dogs! It rained today and there's nothing like the mountains after a good rain.

*I made the time to read two blogs today. My friend Leanne's "From Chaos Comes Happiness" and Kelly's "Artful Happiness". Leanne started a blogging revolution called Keeping It Real. Today's blog post is my first day participating.
