FUNctional Art & Family Fun

The Hot n Spicy Bowl Set is now available at Muddy Potts!
Two bowls that I threw on the wheel and hand painted just for you.
They would make great serving bowls.

We have two new additions to the family. Lumpy and Neo. Lumpy is my registered quarter horse that we bought from our friends over at Beaver Creek Buckskins in Penrose and Neo is my husband's paint that we inherited from friends that were leaving the state due to a job transfer. Needless to say, we've been a bit preoccupied with getting a fence up, hauling horses, hay and water. Oh, and squeezing a ride in here and there.

Room Diffusers

A month ago I had made some little bottles for Blissology, a local soap company that makes delicious soaps, lotions, and oils. They had commissioned me to make bottles for their oil diffusers. They look amazing with the reeds and I bet they smell even better!

Check them out out http://www.blissology.etsy.com/ or http://www.blissology.artfire.com/. They make perfect gifts for your girlfriend or a special treat to yourself.

Unruffled Feathers

I was invited to participate in Picasso Sings the Blues. It is a fundraising event for the Art Center of Highland Park, Illinois. We were sent LPs and album covers to create a work of art. I wasn't quite sure what to paint. When I first started to work on this piece, it was very dark and dreary. I liked what I had painted, but wasn't happy with the content. It was just another blue abstract painting on a record album. I walked away and left it for a few weeks. Time was creeping up on me as usual and I needed to either be done with it or paint something else. Well, like most people, I've been thinking about the economy and what is to become of our country. It can be quite depressing. I decided I can't let it get me down. With that in mind, I started fresh with a new color and a new idea.

Unruffled Feathers is about hope and new beginnings. I might be invisible to the world, but I see what is going on...
