jurying an art show

When I was in high school I lived for art class. I spent 3-4 hours a day in the art room the last two years of my high school days. I remember when it was time for the school art show too. I wanted everything I was working on to be perfect and ready for the show...I have participated in my fair share of exhibitions and now it's my turn to be on the other side. Today I am going to be traveling to a school to judge my first league art show and to be honest, I'm a little nervous. Not so much for me, but for the students! I remember very well how much I wanted to place in those school art shows and how much time and work went into the drawings and paintings I worked on everyday until they were completed.

I hope that the students know that art is subjective and that what they create can't be judged by any one person; that they will continue to create for themselves and for the love of creating...
