I'm jumping on the bandwagon with both feet this year! I have 2 great deals going on right now.

and then at the SAMOS shop I am offering FREE SHIPPING on all art prints! Again use the coupon code: cybermonday

So there you have it! If your out shopping in cyber space today, don't forget to stop by muddypotts or the samos shop on ETSY!

Saying Goodbye

Ghost of a Horse © samos 2013

Saying goodbye to a piece of work that you've created can be bittersweet. I don't know about anyone else's feelings but my own and I usually feel happy, excited, and sad all at once! It's always fun to make a sale. It means someone actually likes what you do other than you, right? But it's a part of you that is leaving and will never return. And that, my friends, can be the sad part if you let it. So today, I am HAPPY to be sharing a part of me: my passion for painting and my love of horses with someone I've never met. Today Ghost of a Horse will have a great new home back east.

What's New: Painting Storage

Some artists are lucky enough to have their own studio space with plenty of room to store their artwork and supplies. Then there are those of us that are lucky to have a spare room (or two) in the house or garage. My office/painting studio/art room is a typical bedroom with a smallish walk in closet. Last night my husband decided he needed to tackle his office which meant rearranging for me too. Most of my large paintings took up residence in his office closet. It is a lot bigger than mine, so it was a good fit for awhile. But he has acquired quite the collection of hunting and fishing memorabilia/paraphernalia which needed a new home, so it was time for me to do some rearranging in my storage area.

For years we've been talking about building a storage unit for my paintings. They seem to multiply around here like bunnies! Anyways, I'm not quite ready to let them go out into the pottery studio. I don't think it would be a smart move considering the temperature out there in the winter, the spiders that like to take up residence and the hay that trickles in with every feeding...with that in mind, my husband built me a nice storage unit in the art room closet.

I love it! It looks great and I have all my paintings in one place. By looking at the pictures though, you can see there isn't much room at all for new work. So I'll have to find more space soon, but for now, I'm very happy with my storage unit.

THANK YOU SO MUCH SWEETIE!

Do you have a storage area for your work? What do you do when it crowds you?
I'd love to hear what you do!

short and stout

this is my first teapot and it's definitely short and stout...
the past few days i've been thinking about all the places i've traveled to and the memories that are so easily forgotten if you don't recognize them every once in awhile. so with that in mind, i have a few new ideas for some paintings that will be created in the next day or two. i can hardly wait to show you on wednesday!

Everyday is Laundry Day X's 2

I finished a commission this week. Two paintings of Everyday is Laundry Day are going to have new homes in a Canadian showroom for a homebuilder. Just waiting for the paint to dry so I can ship them out. Now I'm finishing up some pottery orders. I'm hoping to get them in the kiln before lunch and maybe go for a little ride this afternoon. =)

sick of being sick...

i hate to admit it, but i forgot i had this blog. and the funny thing is, i actually liked this blog better than the other one i started. but it's hard enough to keep one up, let alone two. i guess i'm not as dedicated as most of the bloggers we read about these days. So...i'll try and give a quick update. the last few months have come and gone very quickly. and it looks like my last post was in november!
since then, i have acquired a commission of two paintings and one photograph. the paintings were to be similiar to a past commission of a man and woman that i painted last year. the photograph, was that of a new image i call madelinevintage.
this was request was made the first week of january and was to be delivered by january 26th. the date then changed to february 9th. all in all, the paintings and photograph are delivered and we're moving on. =)

i also had several sales from both galleries and etsy! so far this year i have sold five paintings and one photograph! that is alot for me. and i couldn't be happier. =)

i am also in the process of making two new sculptures. they're at the foundry now, but i should be able to pick them up tomorrow and finish them. i'm very excited to get them done and hopefully enter them in two upcoming exhibits. one is the show in boulder city, the other in loveland.

oh, and the lastest paintings were done for the Language of the Heart Show at Planet Earth, this month.
