I was inspired by a photograph taken by @felecool on Instagram. The painting doesn't look anything like the photo, but then again, its not supposed to either. It's a 16 x 20 mixed media (watercolor and acrylic) on canvas board.

Growing up I was quite the tomboy. Most of my friends were boys and I claimed to hate anything girly, especially flowers. But the truth is, I've always loved flowers. The more colorful and unusual, the better. Last week while I was picking up a few things at the grocery store,  I couldn't pass up these gorgeous sunflowers. They reminded me of a dear friend that loved sunflowers. We don't stay in touch like we used to, but I think of her often, especially when I come across these beauties.

Vango + SAMOS

I'm selling on a new site! Well, it's not new new. They used to be called ARTtwo50 and are now called Vango. They are a little different than most of the online galleries I've worked with. There is a tier system in place. You are allowed to sell five pieces of original paintings for either $100 or $250. Once you have sold 5, you can move up a tier and sell 5 more paintings at $500. I believe there are three tiers. Like I said, I just signed up so I'll see how it goes. So far I've had views through the Vango app (which is only available through the Apple Store). Ha! Thought that would get your attention! Koi + Guiness? What on earth is she talking about?! Well, if you've noticed, I haven't been on the blog much...Ah hem...I do have a fairly good excuse though.

A few months ago I surprised my husband for his birthday with tickets to see Garth Brooks (in Ireland). If you hadn't heard, the  concert didn't happen. Long story and no need to dive into it here, but we still flew over to the land of enchantment and had the best time ever!!!

Now, you're probably wondering where the koi comes in to play. Remember my last post where I was talking about my art possibly being seen in Times Square? Well, my Koi in H2O made it BIG in Times Square!!! It was shown Saturday night, July 26th on the corner of 46th and Broadway!

I also had three other works shown in a collage with other artists. I found one of them, the Run. But I still haven't found the other two...
